Johnny Wright |
Johnny Wright (45), along with cousin Randy Garrett and band mate Randy Ellis, is one of the charter members of the predecessor band, The Universal Pickers. Johnny sings lead as well as low and high harmonies, and handles most of the management duties of the band.
A multi-instrumentalist, Johnny plays banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, guitar, piano, and pennywhistle in the band. He has been known to threaten other band members with learning the bagpipes.
He and his wife reside in Jake, Georgia, with their two children. Johnny is a member and Deacon of the Antioch Baptist Church in Buncombe, Georgia. His hobbies include coaching youth sports and eating fried chicken. A Georgia Tech alum, Johnny is a Vice President for Bank of America in Atlanta, where he works as Controller and Financial Analyst. When he's not banking or playing music, Johnny can usually be found watching The Andy Griffith Show. |
